Contrary Rhetoric: Lectures on Landscape and Language is a co-publication by the University and Fremantle Press. Inspired by a series of public lectures delivered by Dr Kinsella at ECU, the book explores culture, place and poetic language from the city to the bush.

Dr Kinsella completed his PhD studies at ECU in 2005 and is also a Fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge University, and a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia. Professors Glen Phillips and Andrew Taylor of ECU co-edited the book.
