Talented local poets Kevin Gillam, Michael Heald and Fremantle Press Poetry Publisher Georgia Richter give creative writing students the low-down on writing their own poetry. Open to secondary school students in years 8-12. Places are limited and bookings are essential!

Using the thongs that wash ashore every day as their canvas, Christmas Island’s creative writing students have produced an art installation using self-penned Haiku-inspired poetry. Join us at Voicebox for the launch or get down to Clancy’s throughout the month of July.

At the end of this free two-hour workshop participants will have learnt the difference between a zine and a chapbook, seen examples of each, heard why they are created, have brainstormed for their own zine and will have commenced work on one themselves. Places are limited and bookings are essential.
