Fremantle Press authors featured strongly at the Sprung Writers' Festival in Albany from 16-19 September this year.
Robert Drewe (left, on the right), whose collaboration with John Kinsella, Sand, will be published by Fremantle Press in November, spoke at the official Festival opening, before giving the keynote address on Saturday afternoon.
AJ Betts dived straight into the action, getting out and about in schools on Friday, prior to the official opening, and giving a poetry reading later in the festival. An early highlight of the Festival was Emmanuel Mollois, who hosted a long table lunch at the Orange Tractor Winery on Friday.
The ever-popular Jon Doust (right), local Albany resident, co-hosted an early morning session on Saturday with Brenda Walker called ‘books worth getting up early for’.
Interest in Ron Elliott’s (below) debut novel
Spinner grew as the Festival progressed, especially after the launch speech on Saturday by local Albany identity “Scruffo” Jenkins.
