WA Poets Inc are pleased to announce some exciting news. As a lead-up to the 2010 WA Spring Poetry Festival & National Poetry Week we are running a Song Lyric Writing Competition.
First prize is a Savannah Songwriter acoustic guitar valued at $300 - kindly donated by JAG Music.
We've assembled a team of judges with extensive music and writing experience; and it's a great honour to have Niall Lucy, Amber Fresh, Cherise Meredith, Amanda Joy and David Johnson on the panel.
On Wednesday Niall gave the competition and festival a great plug on his Comfort Zone show on ABC Radio Perth. Poetess extraordinaire Gabby Everall will also be promoting the competition on RTRFM. We're arranging all sorts of other promotional material and media coverage.

Deadline for entries is 31st July 2010.
During the festival a poetry and music night will be held and winners will be announced and prizes presented. If you know of any musicians who might be interested in performing, please ask them to contact us.
