Writing Workshop: Beaming in on Lighthouses

Dianne Wolfer turns local legends and landmarks into children’s fiction. In his workshop you will use events and people from Albany’s rich history as inspiration to create children’s fiction.

Suitable for both beginners or those with stories in progress. Bring photographs, family anecdotes, historical notes or simply your imagination.

Dianne is the author of 12 books for children and young adults. Her latest title Lighthouse Girl is based on an event from the life of Fay Catherine Howe, daughter of the lighthouse keeper on Breaksea Island. The south coast also features in many of her other stories.
