NEWS: Kim Scott tours Germany

Miles Franklin Award winner Kim Scott will commence a book tour of Germany in October 2009.

His paper, ‘Apologies, Agency and Resilience’, will be presented at a symposium called The Australian “History Wars” Revisited on 6 October. The symposium is organised by the Free University of Berlin and will also feature Reading the Country author Stephen Muecke plus Bain Attwood, and James Boyce.

NEWS: Shorelines 2 poetry winners announced

Scott-Patrick Mitchell, James Quinton and Emma Rooksby will feature in Shorelines 2, a collection of works by emerging poets to be published by Fremantle Press in 2010.

Guest editor and poet Tracy Ryan said the editorial committee was spoilt for choice with 36 promising collections submitted for appraisal.

“But I think this final selection is a real stand-out, and will make a terrific book,” said Ryan.
